Improving yourself and others to save the world.

Saving the world is easy, but saving what you want is harder.

I feel that many of the world’s problems are easy to solve if humans could use their emotions effectively. However, many of the world’s problems are caused by human emotions and desires.

I would like to start a group that has mutual goals of the members. People may not share all the same goals but enough of them so that the progress of the group does have a beneficial impact on humanity.

Preventing the top ten ways the world is going to end

People are worried about problems they cannot solve, yet problems they can solve are being ignored.

Many websites will post top ten lists of how life on earth could end with many of the events being caused by humans. As such, trying to tackle one of the scenarios may allow another one to happen. I believe that many of them can be avoided however, if people would put in the effort to stop the one that is easiest for them to solve. Here is a list of likely scenarios http://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/2017/09/22/world-definitely-going-end-just-probably-not-saturday/689803001/ With emotional intelligence, logic, and the history lessons that I promote will go a long way for humanity to improve to the point where these scenarios will be less likely to happen. Many of the wars in the world could be prevented by people coming to understand one another. This isn’t to say that people would not hate each other, but alternative ways of living could be discovered. Plagues, bioweapons, and other diseases could also be suppressed as people would be more likely to work together to tackle the bigger issues.

There are organizations and philanthropists who already want to save the world.

There are many others who want to save the world or improve it to fit their wants. Picking any charity to donate to is cool, yet if your dream ideal is not being benefited then a little effort is wasted. By finding a charity or organization that fits with your ideals, you can focus on a problem you are better able to solve. For example, if you don’t like people suffering in the world or want to make sure people will always have access to help, you could consider Doctors without borders. Doctors without borders is a multinational organization that gives aids to regions that need medical help.  Also known as Medecins Sans Frontiers, the organization operates in multiple countries giving aid to those less fortunate. Organizations like these help people who fall through the net.

There are others who want to make the world a better place, and some of these are philanthropists. Another organization that helps the world would be the bill gates foundation (Look up the organization) The organizations website states that “All lives have equal value”, “we are impatient optimists working to reduce inequity”. The foundation focuses on reducing poverty through better healthcare and education, investing in women’s health and empowerment, combating diseases, and inspire people to act.

Mark Zuckerberg has two ideas to make the world a better place. The one I want to focus on is his goal to have people know 100 times more than they already do.  He is wanting to achieve this by progressing education so that every child “by age 21 will be able to earn a living wage, build independence, and identify and pursue their passions”. The goal of this philanthropist is in line with what I believe can be done to save the future. As such, I feel that using his organization for a donation drive could benefit those in the world who share these desires but might not have enough time.

Working smarter and harder

By improving yourself, your work and ethics can leach on to others. Take pride in your work.

If you were assigned to work a job and it was not finished, would it affect someone else? Putting pay aside not finishing work that you were assigned can prevent others from their job. If you are under paid for your job, I can understand the contempt of not putting work to get even with the boss. I get it. Yet, we know that not performing the work hurts others that might be in a similar position. A solution is needed that allows you to work for the amount you are paid and allow the next person from that work not to be negatively affected.

If you improve yourself, then would you be able to help the next person or be the person who does not need someone to finish their job? Improving yourself can allow you to stand up to the boss who does not want to pay, cover your job enough for what your paid and save the next person from suffering from inadequate work.

  1. Great post. I think you talked about a lot of great points here. There are a hundred choices that we make every day that could all influence a better outcome if we were to choose wisely. Little things like making sure your lights are off, or carpooling feel small and useless, but if we all contribute we can make things better.

    1. Exactly, kind of like the butterfly effect where a small change now has drastic effects on the future.

  2. Some really awesome points here. If everyone just tried a little harder the world could be such a better place. Keep up the good work!

Why emotional intelligence is important for helping the world.

I feel that many of the worlds problems could be avoided, if everyone learned on to improve their emotional intelligence. Going to school, for twelve years of my life, I learned many facts and ideas that can be used to improve myself. These ideas ranged from algebra to machining and computer design, which could be used to put myself in a favorable career. However, I do not remember taking a class where I would improve myself or to explore emotional intelligence. I feel their absence did not benefit me for school, as I was bullied and the majority of my reactions was to get angry. I knew many other kids who experienced this and we talked about it with no permanent solutions to this situation. What kept me going was the thought that after high school I would have better results for dealing with people. Yet, this turned out to not entirely be true. After reading and learning about emotional intelligence, I believe this would be a way to increase the amount of discussion had, instead o...

What are fallacies and how should they be approached?

Imagine having a conversation with someone where you looked up all the facts and thought for a long time why a course of actions should be taken.   Then imagine explaining the decision you made to someone else and they reply that you shouldn’t do it. You ask why and at first their answer seems to make sense.   When you get home afterwards you start to think on the conversation and realize that something isn’t right. You run through what the other person had said and that off something they said turned out to be a fallacy. Here are some fallacies and examples that are common that will make a greater point of what they are. The Ambiguity fallacy is where a phrase or word that can mean multiple things is used to give the speaker either multiple choices for what they mean or allows them to be misleading but not incorrect.   So, if I was to say, “I am giving everyone in this crowd a car tonight” on my live T.V. show. Not specifying that I meant a Hot Wheels model ca...
